Well if you count Roadrunners I have fished and loved then since the late 1970's! Still my favorite spring bait!

Ima Road Runner fan. I useta fan cast looking for them crappies, before Side Imaging. I still bang the banks and also fan casting for pleasure. There is something special about catching a crappie when casting. Nothing like it!!!!!!!!!!Period.

I like the spinners, and use different styles. The ones I have tied have done well, before I donated them to a tree. Trolling with Roadrunners is an every trip thing. Lately I have been casting 1/32 and 1/64 single pole and have only tried a RR once, and it had a red painted head and didn't work that day but will try again. I notice on your ties that you tie one color in heavy and the other on top. Any special reason? Just asking. I have always tied in one with just a few wraps and then added the next and loaded up the wraps after that. Looks like yours would be tough and not come apart. My kiptails have been calling me for a couple of weeks now. May have to dig em out and see what develops.

I can not speak for him but the video I watched to learn how showed exactly what he is doing. Mainly a saltwater tying video I watched. I have since gone to a few wraps to secure then finish heavy.

Skeet, it usually happens on the first one or two I tie before Im paying attention, then I go to just a couple wraps to secure before adding the other color and wrapping it all in. I always give a good tug to the tail when Im done, Id rather have it pull out right away when I can cut it off and start over.

Cool Mike. I also take about 5 strands of red or pink on the very bottom before finishing. Give it a try and see if it works where you fish, worked good in TN.
