Went out late this morning with my brother and his friend Ken. We went up the main channel to Crowder creek. Several boats were in there pre fishing for the Crappie USA Tournament. Talked to a couple guys as they passed by, they were not doing much catching. Mostly perch and occasional crappie is all I saw. We managed several good crappies and a few good size perch mostly due us slow trolling .6-.8. Everyone else seemed to be flying by longlining. Weather held out for us, only windy and chilly. Water temp dropped a few degrees it was 65.8 at one time that I remember. Total for Ken to clean was 8 crappies 10-13 inches and 7 big white perch. Hope to get back out later this weekend. May go to Fishing creek if I can in the evenings. Great day for just being out and fishing.

lets get Ck to launch his boat! we give him plenty of time to pick us up, we go fish, he drops us off on the dock, pulls away , waits his turn ! Not sure his Merc will cut it, A man can only cut so many corners in his life and NEVER ON HIS BOAT OR MOTOR !!!

Getting my plan together for tomorrow. Going out with a buddy in a pair of kayaks so I have low expectations. However you won't catch a thing if you don't have line in the water. How deep are the crappie right now? We're coming from fort mill. Any advice on putting in at nivens vs ebenezer?
