Default Source for crappie bed material

My buddy and I have been building some beds, im trying to find a good source for cheap lumber for buckets and or lumber to build pallet style beds. I'm in the western Ky area, and help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Find a factory and get their pallets. Most factories are either trashing them or are sending them back to a pallet company for free. Pallets are a nuisance.

Look around at any construction site & check their "dumpsters" ... usually lots of odds/ends pieces of lumber in those, and possibly even pallets.

Thanks for all the comments, I was wanting to build my own pallets, I've got pallets from work after I add my up rights they get hard to sink. I want to build some with out as much wood in the frame. I'm looking for a cheap saw mill...

I don't build much anymore but when I did, I made friends with the local Amish saw mill guy that would save his rough cut thin scraps and sell them to me for little-to-nothing. If we had to buy more we'd only pay $100 for an entire banded bundle of rough cut lumber and then rip the 6" boards down with a table saw.
