I fished the ACT this past weekend and didn't land enough fish to place in the money. Had several roll off both days. The payout was awesome. I will fish more of those. I have to wonder though if the payouts are going to stay with the limited number of boats ?
67 boats and payouts were over $ 54,000.00. Someone(s) somewhere came up short guys. Just saying..........
With 100+ boats the payout would have been much bigger, and gone down 20 places instead of 12. If the CM Washington tourney hadn't been on the same day, we would have had a HUGE turnout. To many boats fishing for the points race at CM to quit fishing them now. I think both trails will have a big following as long as the tourney dates don't interfere with each other. I'll fish them both when the dates don't overlap. I will fish the closer to home tourneys when they do. No comparison in the money tho. The ACT is here to stay with the potential payouts they have.

Bottom line its hard to compete with first place being a new boat no matter what the boat count , should be an interesting season

Well while we are discussing pros and cons i would like to see the cm evening rules etc slimmed down. It's long and boring and if you attend one then should be exempt from the future ones would b nice. Also not many of the non wrap boats get on camera at all except for weigh in maybe. I understand that the wrapped boats are sponsors but with out the other 70 percent of the boats that aren't sponsors fishing there wouldn't be much of a turn out. So each is important imo. Would like to see holding tanks and ability to use fish bags or better preservation of the resource. With competition brings change.

One thing to remember about the rules seminar for any group is that each lake may have a different rule and the only way they can be sure you hear those rules is by you attending the seminar.
No matter who I fish with my fish go to the scales in an aerated cooler. What would be the advantage of a bag?

The bag is much better, matter a fact if you put your fish in a cooler the bring to the weigh-in area with ACT you are DQed. Only 20 bags are handed out at a time, one angler brings the boat number tag to the weigh-in area and request a bag while the other stays with the boat and fish in the livewell. As bags become available you are given your bag to retrieve your fish. The bag is really 2 bags, a mesh bag inside the rubber or plastic bag. You fill the bag with water from your livewell, place your fish in the mesh bag inside the rubber bag and present them to Matt Morgan where he checks them. At this time you are give your fish back in the mesh bag, place them in holding tanks that are filled with lake water and aereated. The fish stay in the tank beside you until you weigh-in, like 5 minutes tops. Once your weight is posted the fish go immediately to the release tank on the pontoon boat.
Been around tourneys for a long time, bass and crappie and this is the best system I have seem to insure these fish can be released in good shape.

Actually the holding tanks have lake water in them and have oxygen being pumped in it.
