I'm curious about the part with the minor only being able to catch part of your 20 fish creel limit.
Did I understand that correctly?
I've always thought a minor could catch their limit and those with licenses could catch their's.

I would love to know what the game warden would say to this question as well. To me, the easiest thing to do would be abide by the state laws in which you are licensed. This could pose a problem if you have a GA license and are fishing SC waters. At the point I'd take the stance that'd you'd be checked by a sc officer and he or she would be looking for 20.
I do think you would be within the law if you and a friend from ga were fishing ga waters and kept 50. 30 for him, 20 for you.
For me, I never keep over 20 per person when I fish over there just to be safe.

Hooking up every chance I get!
Thanks guys. It was just out of curiosity. I never catch enough for two limits no matter what state anyways. And I wouldn't even think of keeping such a small fish. Shoot right now I'm catching ones who would eat a 7 inch crappie!
Of course that'll be short lived more than likely. But it sho is fun!!!
CB,
I cornered a South Carolina DNR officer and asked these questions !!! that is why I posted ;
if you fish the Georgia side of Lake Hartwell, Russell, and Clarkes Hill you creel limit is still 20 per person no matter which side of the lake you fish if you put your boat in on South Carolina side of the lake !!! if you put in on the Georgia side of the lake then Georgia's DNR laws are in effect !!!!!
pay attention to the blue part !!!!! that means where your truck and trailer is parked for you to trailer the boat back home !!!!!!! I have already ran this rabbit before with LAW ENFORCEMENT !!!!! when in doubt call DNR !!!!

I get that, but I'm with Butch on it still being very iffy. If I get stopped on the way home it's my word against the game warden on where I put in and where I fished.
So, I'll stick with the 20/person. I don't need more than that anyway LOL
Thanks for sharing!!

that's me I don't that many myself !!! I just answered the question but with that said I never have seen a South Carolina DNR Officer stop a person in route home unless he was looking for something to start with !!!! if he is going to check you more than likely it will be done on the water or at the ramp !!! if he stops you in route home he is looking for reason !!!!

Yeah, I agree with that too. I have been through license checks with DNR present like Butch mentioned. In that instance, they wouldn't have to be looking for anything to check you.

I know what saying about going through license checks with DNR present that happens a lot over here on Lake Greenwood they have never asked to check my boat !!! but if they even think you been drinking or doing any kind of illegal drugs your going to have a bad day for sure !!!!

Joe, just for the record, the only road checks Ive been thru where a Game Warden was present was during deer seasons. The law stopped the vehicles for a liscense or insurance check and the Game Warden was "conveniently there" to look in the backs of the trucks.![]()
Also, something I never knew before that I'll just pass along...when SC changed their rules to an 8" size limit and a 20 fish creel limit I called the Ga. GW office to find out when a "new" reciprocal agreement would be published (which there wasn't going to be one this time) and that's when I found out that a SC GW stays on SC waters and a Ga GW stays in Ga waters. That's what they told me anyway so I thought I'd just pass that little bit of info along...
