if you haven't been on the water in awhile. Check the water in your batteries. Use distilled water.
When you hook up your onboard charger, make sure your lights are saying it's taking a charge. I have a MK 330 onboard and I hooked it up and looked the next day, 2 of the lights were flashing green while the other was solid red. The flashing green means it has a full charge while the red means you have a problem. On MK chargrers, the lights should be an Amber color when it's taking a charge.
The battery had lost to much charge to take a charge do I hooked it up to the portable charger for an hour, then replugged it in. It's taking a charge now.
Oh, check your water in take and pee hole for dirt dinner nests. Mine were. Lol

Change lower unit fluid and water pump. Pull the props off the big motor and trolling motor and remove the old fishing line wrapped around the shaft. (There's some there so get it now). Check the trailer bearings. Repack or change them. (Also cheap insurance). New plugs are cheap and make a difference if they are more than a couple of years old.

Check your fuel primer bulb. A little age can cause it to fail. Learned it the hard way.

If you have the MarPac (blue line) fuel line and bulb, REPLACE it! It has a plastic liner inside the hose that will detach from the line and stop up the fitting to your motor and also the fitting from your tank! Just learned that last week. Thought I had a carb problem, but no fuel was getting to the motor! Buy fuel line from NAPA, CarQuest or wherever you buy parts. Get a new bulb from Wal-Mart w/ clamps and replace the whole mess!You won't be sorry!

Move batteries to the rear of boat

Replace the trim pump that crapped out the first of December
Install rodholders in hopes you will like them, know the answer in the morning.
Check hubs and grease bearings
Tighten up loose running board on the trailer while the boat is on the water, tied off at the dock at beautiful Lake Washington

Went to put my boat back on the trailer a few weeks ago. Backed the trailer in and the darn left running board just floated off.....
What is the process on repacking your hub bearings? I know I have neglected mine and need to work on em before I pay the price.

Don't repack misewell replace the bearings and races. I have bearing buddies on mine that have a grease alamite to pump grease in them. Very simple process to replace trailer hub bearings, races and seals. The key is packing bearings properly, inspecting spindles for damage, installing races properly and also making sure you don't over torque spindle nuts or under torque. I never put my boat away, so the checklist is not necessary, she runs 12 months a year, maybe not for crappie but fer other critters..Originally Posted by MidMsAngler
