I go up the river from Whittington to the sandbars in the summer and wanting to know if anyone knows if there is a map for my HB that will show the rock dikes? When the river is at certain levels the dikes are just below the water.

It should
The Navionics will work fine in your bird. I would call Lakemaster and find out if their card does. Like the features on lake master better. Hopefully it would show them also.

They SHOULD be marked at the end by a bouy corresponding with which side of the river that they are on. The COE offers dike charts that will tell you which dikes are submerged and/or passable at different river levels. Bar-way charts have each dike marked but these are paper charts.

My son said there was a dike between Whittington outlet and the bar north of it. I don't remember seeing a bouy, but I would not have known what it meant anyway.

When the water is high enough towboats will run over top of the dikes to save time and sometimes will wipe out the bouy in the process. Are you talking about Indian Point Towhead(Island)? If so, the only major dikes I am aware of are north of it. I will double check this against my paper charts next time I am in my wheelhouse later on.

It's been 14 years since I fished for big cats in the river, I've seen those buoys go down for 10, 15 minutes and 3, 4 hours at a time.
