    Default Eno White Bass!!!

Its that time of year again. Dust your ultralights off and grab some Rooster tails. I tried for the 1st time yesterday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. In about 4 hours me and a buddy caught 75-100 fish. It was non stop action once we found em. Lots of decent size males and a dozen or so fat females. I usually start to catch fish this time of year but have never caught that many in Feb and have never caught a female this early in the year.

I usually don't share specific info because I am fishing from the bank. Those of you that know me probably have already figured out where I was. I have also heard rumors that some good fish have already been caught at Pennys Bend.

If you have never tried to fish for White Bass in the ENO you are missing out. Nothing puts up a fight like these boys do. If yesterday was a sample of things to come then its going to be a great spring.

All of the fish we caught were caught on a 1/8th oz white rooster tail. They would not touch anything else.

We caught four of the largest white bass I have ever seen last Sat. in the Jordan crappie tournament. You're right--they can sure put up a fight.

Good job! Looking forward to our paths crossing and watching you catch a double header of hickory shad too.

Thanks for the post. I had already planned on heading up that way today due to the beautiful weather and early warm waters for this time of year. I have been eagerly waiting for the run since last year and am excited to hear that yall had a successful day. I'll post later on and hopefully will have similar success.

I went to penny bend and fish a little, didn't see anyone fishing. I walked toward the lake from the parking lot and fished different spots, not a single bite...always bad timing for me. Hope somebody have good luck..

Fished ENO on Wednesday. Caught 3 nice Crappie, 5 little tiny white bass, one decent female white bass, and a BUNCH of tiny white perch. Ended up fishing a flat that was out of the wind. Fished all day for these few fish. Not quite time yet.

However, I never get tired of seeing my old man (now 72) set the hook on a fish with an ultralite and light line, we've fished everything from Walleye, Sea Trout, Catfish, and Spanish Mackerel but every year he comes down from OH to get into the white bass. Definitely one of the absolute funest times you can have catching fish when they make it in there.

    Fun times, Fishengineer

congratulations on you and you father going after them together.

Fishengineer, I would suggest keeping or killing the white perch. That's what happened to the white bass here on two large lakes that I fished,we started catching a few white perch mixed in with the white bass and within about three years there wasn't such a thing as the white bass run anymore. Very lucky to catch any white bas now. Everyone blames the perch for their demise.
    HEY,,WATCH THAT YELLOW ROD
