All of you gentleman's advice are helpful. Lol , I wasn't using jighead without the barb. I have ultra chenille standard. Plus I didn't think I was suppose to wrap chenille tight. I don't like adding glue before putting on chenille because when it dries, it leaves my body ugly with dried up glue. I won't give up , I just want everything perfected with time.

Above advise is very good. I will add that barbed jigs are designed to hold plastics and not intended for other materials. Second you do not want paint on the jig shank were you tie your materials on. This makes the thread slip and so on. You do not have to use super glue but a very small amount of head cement over your thread wraps will hold it then in turn hold the other material. You should not need the glue but it would work. You could also wrap the shank with thread glue and let dry. Do a dozen or so and set aside. Come back later and tie the jig. #1 reason is the painted surface is slippery. However you need to wrap with the right amount of pressure on thread and materials regardless of what you do or materials will slip!

Also make sure to wrap body material in same direction that you wrap the thread
