    Default Larto....

So I decided to go see what Larto is all about.....wife and I gonna make a drive one day just to go see the sights.....someone tell me what are the best roads to take to get there from Baton Rouge.....from the map it looks like I could either go thru Alexandria or go thru Natchez...seems like I read on here to not follow the GPS directions....

Mr. Bruce going through Natchez to Larto will be much better roads. Going through Alexandria you either drive about 60 miles on black top or 15 miles of gravel and limestone road.

I do know US 61 to Natchez is four lane. Good luck on Larto. Can't believe you gonna leave Butte Larose. Never hurts to change.

Thanks Bruce...don't like gravel so it looks like going thru Natchez....I have been thru Natchez plenty times and JR is correct, the road from BR to there is very good...from there it looks like I go west on hwy. 84, then south on 124 then take 3102 to the lake.....I will be going to Uncle Buds to check it out.....is that the best route?........

JR....change is good....especially if your honey hole is muddy like chocolate milk....

I want to get back down to Bayou Cheramie also the next week or so....

Yes that is correct. It's a nice drive from Jonesville to Larto. Lot of fields to look at.

I like the cabins at Uncle Bud's, they're unique for sure. They are lab friendly as well. Interesting about them is they are made to float for high water events. You'll see the sliding poles on the corners. Haven't seen anything like that before. Bruce is right about the burgers.

I would go hwy 1 through Marksville. I lived in Baton Rouge for a little over a year and tried just about every route. Find this one to be the quickest, but may not be as pretty of drive as going through Natchez.
