I use Baitcasters with Thumbar put toying with the idea of the solo. Like the idea of the lighter weight.
How do I find these reels?

Those type reels are fine for a jig pole single pole fishing. But not good spider rigging or power trolling.....you gonna be in a mess when a striper or a goo or a big catfish hit. Baitcasters with thumbars are the way to go.

Would not fishing deep water like bay springs be a pain with a reel that has no level wind ? I may be wrong in thinking the solo has no free turning spool .

They will work but I would look at getting spin reels or bait casters when you can. I've been using spinners for about 4 years. Works great for me tight lining or jigging. Each to there own I guess.

Somebody post a picture or a model number of one of the baitcasters with a thumb at they use. I use a micro casting reel because of weight. Would love to compare what y'all use.

That's not heavy on the spider rigging poles?

Not to me, but I don't understand why folks fret over weight, the rod holders hold the rods, prolly had 10 different women fish out of my rig last year and never heard one of the say the rod was heavy because of the reel.
