I got the chenille over a year ago now and tied a couple minnow head jig to show, but I wanted a Roadrunner type bait for this and got a few Pony heads to tie up so I could ask you guys what you think. Here are my 3 versions and yes 2 look very close and may not really be different enough, but the other is different for sure and also a couple pics of the Rosey Red minnows so you can see the color range. Well not totally because some look almost the color of a shiner, but I love the ones with a little color difference.

So here are the jigs and please tell me what you think.

You amaze me with your talent my friend. Those look really great. The Rosy Reds breed easily. I have a tank in my garage where I raise my own. They are better than minnows on Weiss Lake, Logan Martin and Guntersville Lakes where I fish. I have even made some soft plastic stingers in a translucent light orange color that work just as well as the real thing. Well done Skip...well done again.

Thank you Mike, I really appreciate the kind comments! All I wonder is why don't fishermen everywhere just demand having access to these minnows as I am sure most of the time and on most lakes they will out catch shiners!

i just wish that some how I could get others here to stop buying shiners for a couple weeks and then I bet we could get some Rosey's if that is what we want!

I'm with all of the other guys! Your ties are gorgeous!! How are you able to look at
something and duplicate it pretty well in the form of a hand tied jig?
Keep up the great work Skip!! Thanx for posting. I've been tempted to
try using Rosy Red's up north, if I can find 'em!

I would have tested them last spring, but our spring fishing was ruined by the floods so I hardly fished for crappie at all then. Hope to this spring coming up!

Thanks for asking and I do believe they will do well, but I have not proved that yet!
