The last time I fished my lowrance hds 8 bit the dust. I have been having trouble with it and so it went in the trash. I have been wanting to try a Garmin sv 93 for a while so I ordered a new one. Should be here wed and I can get it installed. It is a reasonable priced unit and has down and side view built in. I got the chirp model that will support the new forward looking pan optic transducer. All I got to do is save up $1500. For the transducer. Don

Don did you really? What are you going to do with it? What was it doing?
Mark yes I did. I got no patience for a unit that does not work. I have had my eye on the garmin for some time. If you want it it is yours. There is a place in Florida that will work on them. Let me know
The unit was on sale it normally sells for $1200.00. The $1500.00 is just for the panoptic forward looking transducer. There are a couple videos on utube about it. Supposedly you can spot fish out in front of the boat and see them bite your lure.
Don I have had awesome reports about that unit and the transducer together. I have one guy I tie jigs for and he tells me he can watch the fish coming to his jigs and is able to adjust his fishing to what the fish wants in movement or no movement.

Stump that is what I have been seeing when I researched the unit. The unit was on sale on eBay for $400.00 off. It is a 9 inch screen. I will probably put it on the champion as that is my primary crappie boat and eventually add the transducer.
I had a Garmin 840xs, sort of their high end stuff,
Amazing side images, and I mean AMAZING, but poor down images and I sold it eventually
