Bet it would be a disaster if you tried to swing in a 2 lb or larger fish with anything other than an Ozark . I took a lady fishing this summer and took awhile to teach her the NIMROD snatch and swing landing technique . She kept putting her elbows in her stomach and could not lift high enough . I told her this ain't golf ,to lift them arms up and stand up if needed . She started flinging them in the boat . I told her not to try it unless she was using a good pole like Ozarks . She fished next day with my buddy and he uses B-n- M rods . She busted a pole right into .
Another guy fished with me this summer but wanted to use his poles . I offerred one of mine but said his were fine . I started swinging them in left and right handed . (both poles) . Well he tried it and bam , his B-n- M busted . I handed him one of mine and told him I had a replacement top half I'd sell . He turned it down and asked where to buy one like mine .
I think nets are for Catfish and Green Carp not Crappie . As RCC would say '' Ozark rods are Crappie Ninja approved''

Nimrod you are a lot braver than I am. I wouldn't try to swing a 2 lb plus crappie in the boat with a catfish rod. Lost to many big crappie because of hooks pulling out over the years but not due to rods breaking. Used the same 10 ft Sam Heaton super sensitive for a long time and wouldn't trade it for nothing. Heard the Ozark rods are nice and work good never tried one. Curious what the Ozark weighs compared to the Sam Heaton. Dippin jigs all day weight becomes an issue.

I wouldn't snatch a Real 2lb fish in the boat with a broom handle. The pole has nothing to do with their soft lips or mouth. BnM Sam Heaton Signature rear seated Super Sensitive BnM Sam Heaton Signature rear seated Super Sensitive

Really doesn't have anything to do with the rod , it's about the technique used to swing em in ! However I do like the Ozark rods but there are other great rods out there and BnM has been around longer than any of em !

Heavier I'm sure but I fish one in each hand , all day sometimes . I fish bigger jigs with bigger hooks than most . Don't loose many and feel I land some that those trying to net would . I see them often drop off in the boat once line goes slack .

More lost when line slack allows hook to fall out a torn hole . If you doubt my word , just ask the guys fishing with me . (slackline , Fancy Seats , RCC , Ski Trip ) just to name a few .

It is about technique and having a good rod. I've about stomped a hole in the bottom of the boat running around with the net while Nimrod was telling me to get out of the way Yes, Nimrod is not joking, and I've seen him swing many huge crappie in the boat without a net, and he has seen me lose several trying to play them to the net. I don't have skills that will match the real crappie catchers out there, but it is amazing to see them work their magic. I don't see enough big fish to practice on, so I always go for the net. I can rip the lips on some 8 inch slabs without reaching for the net.

I like forward seat rods and use the butt against my elbow/forearm for leverage to swing the slabs in with both hands ( rod in each hand ).
