Fished our first CCA tournament and was very happy with our effort. We had 7 nice fish @7.95 lbs and was 3 and a half lbs short. That tells me we have a lot of work to do to be competitive buts that's okay to maybe one day we will get there. My point though is that this lake is back and back big. 9 lbs use to win this thing but not any more. If you want top notch crappie fishing Jordan is your lake. Most of the fish were caught in 16 to 20 ft of water except for the winner and I think they we're up the river shallow maybe.

Charles and I had 9.49 lbs., but that was only good enough for 16th place. Whew--there were some nice crappie caught on Jordan yesterday and yes, the lake is back. Only two other lakes, Santee-Cooper and Norman have yielded higher winning totals for a CCA tournament. We all weigh in 7 fish and all but the 25th place team (6.92) had weights over 7 lbs. Thirteen teams had 10 or more pounds and hat's off to those guys. It was quite exciting at the weigh-in because all the teams caught good fish. I'm glad I can call Jordan my home lake!!
mac crappie LIKED above post
I DON'T FISH JORDAN BUT IT LOOKS LIKE ITS ON FIRE FOR BIG FISH,HOW WERE MOST OF THE GUYS FISHING,LONG-LINNING,PUSHING OR BRUSHPILES,THE REASON ASKING IS WE HAVE A TOURNAMENT ON KERR ( BUGGS) THIS SATURDAY,AND WANTED TO COMPARE STYLES OF FISHING
God Demonstrated his love for us.Romans 5:8
We were long-lining jigs, but the majority were tight-lining minnows.
Do you mind if I ask what depth you where long lining in?
14-15 foot water.
Thanks. I like long lining just don't do it much. We caught 60 today and had 22 that we kept but we didn't keep any under 11" we had 4 that where 14.5" and the rest where between 11-13" had a great day. We were tight lining minnows.
We had six over a pound yesterday morning by 8:00, but could not get those big fish around 2 lbs. Looks like you had a very good day was well.
