    Default Friday fishin ...

    Well, it was a bust ! ! ! !
    Got to ramp, put in, gave her full throttle = went up on plane, then bogged down, then up, then bogged etc, etc .....
    Run good for a minute, then bog, back and forth ......
    It had done that to me last trip but just a little, and that was coming back from the other side of the lake, I dismissed it etc, etc .....
    Was fairly bad this time.
    I got to mouth of river/lake and it was pretty rough (wind out of north, current to the north), Looked a little calmer out further in the lake,
    but, my hole is on the other side of the lake = didn't want to chance a motor breakdown way out in the lake with it being fairly rough etc, etc ....

    Yesterday afternoon I checked my fuel/water separator and it was full of water = emptied out ........
    After returning to ramp I checked it again = full of water ......
    I keep gas (non-Ethanol) topped off, so, no chance of condensation/separation happening etc, etc, ......
    I buy my gas from a gas company (Watkins Oil) instead of service station to ensure they have best gas (above ground tanks) etc, etc .....
    Can't figure out why I'm getting water in my gas ....................

    Going to put new spark plugs in (two yrs old) and see about getting water out of line (can't be much), then got to take her out again
    for test run = hopefully that'll cure problem, if not = got to have engine analysis done etc, etc, etc .......
    Have a nice day ................

    P.S. -> 5am this morning the weather prediction was for winds 5-9mph (7am-12pm) ..
    I just checked it now, 10am = 16mph ==== They changed it after I had looked at it this morning = tx's A**holes ......

    Check your fuel bleed vent. If it is low on side of hull, I have heard of people having problems with them getting turned up and catching rain water or turned facing forward and catching water spray. When they get turned it also moves the orientation of the trap and lets water actually in tank. Hopefully it is something simple. Hate hearing anyone with motor problems.

    Yup. Buddy's Sea Pro fuel vent would get splashed in in a quartered following sea.

    Bought a new puck for it and installed it and was good.

    Sorry to hear about a lost opportunity Danny. I'll bet it wont be long til you post what it was and grumble about how simple it was. Looking forward to the next trip's report.

    I looked for a gas vent dealy-bop = can't find one = probably hidden in there with the tank ?????
    Popped top on motor and emptied gas/water separator and cranked motor = watched gas fill up
    transparent container = red plastic piece (floats in water but not in gas) stayed on bottom,
    indicating no water in gas etc, etc ........
    So, gonna run it again to verify it was water in gas etc, etc, etc ...........
    I think it was one of them God things ya know .... was too rough out there and God messed with my
    motor so I wouldn't go on out there etc, etc, etc ..........
    Then again, might still be messed up = got to go to know ........

    Another thought on getting the water out of the tank. I have a top load tank and had a water issue and residual trash , etc. Several feet of clear vinyl hose just big enough to accept a 1/4" piece of copper tubing about 2 1/2' long. Set the boat so that whatever trash and water will settle to one corner, stick the tubing there and begin a siphon. I siphoned into a 1 gallon glass jar and got a bunch of little black stuff(?) and about 5 or 6 oz of water. Fuel issues went away and I use this once or twice a year and it keeps the gremlins at bay.
