Perry, 9-30
Fished under the bridge from the shore near the Slough Creek ramp for a few hours before sundown on Friday evening. They were about 10-12' deep in (I'm guessing, based on the fall of the lure) about 16-18 fow. Caught 7 good fighting bass, and one fairly fat crappie (I would guess he was about 12-13"). The pic doesn't do him justice, but he's out there for someone else to catch.
I was using a Slabalicious lure with a chartreuse tail, 1/16 oz head, and a "Tuxedo Black" body (light blue on top, fading to black on bottom). The bite was crazy for a couple of hours, especially the bass - and they seemed to want to see the lure move quite a bit faster than summertime. Unfortunately, I had family obligations, so I left before it got dark. I think I might have found a good fall/winter fishing spot. Thanks to another kind fisherman (Mike) for the tips. That's what it's all about, in my book - I don't always catch a lot, but sure do enjoy relaxing and having fun with family and/or new and old friends.

Fished Perry today. Lake about 8 ft high. 15 to 1 keeper ratio. A lot of small crappie. Pattern: slow trolling rocky areas in 10 to 12 ft find shad and crappie will be in the area. Color jig didn't matter.

I think I might hit under the bridge again today if it isn't raining when I get off work. Wanna feel some of that thump! Lol

When I fish the bridge from my boat normally fish the south side, eeker01 which side do you prefer.

I usually fish from the shore - so I always head for the shore with either the least wind, or one where I can cast with the wind. Fishing against the wind, from shore, I have lost a lot of lures that way. Lol

I feel your pain about lost lures. But found best bank fishing usually wind blowing strait into it. Know it's a crappie board and love catching them but love fighting them whites. This time of year into late fall on windy points near bridges they'll get as shollow as a foot of water following wind blown shad. Sometimes crappie aren't much deeper. Bank fisherman myself eeker. Do good with same pattern slough creek, rock creek, and 92 bridge.

The whites are definitely fun - especially on my 4lb line! Another spot that I've had some luck at is down at the end of the road behind the Park Office, Shelter Rd. There's a nice rock point near a feeder and is about 10 minutes from my house. I hit that spot a lot if I don't have much time but want to get a line wet.
