    Default Mr Cane Pole

    Good day Mr Cane Pole.
I know you are around the Pump House area. We are coming down and staying at Pleasant View the 21st of OCTOBER. Going to be there for 9 days. Hopefully can find a crappie or 2.
I see this coming weekend the Pump House bait shop is closing for the season. My hopes was that this was going to be very convenient having a bait shop right next door. Do you have any recommendations on the next nearest bait shop (by land or water.) I was hoping I wouldn't have to spend an hour a day running around finding minners. I think I'll be building me a minnow box to tie off the dock before I come.
Crappie spawning and morels popping up at the same time. What was God thinking when he made that schedule. It's pure torture every spring deciding which to do.

The store at Country Junction will have minnows and is probably the closest. The Crappie USA Classic is the 28th and 29th up there, so there'll probably be a lot of folks around the area.

What Vonna says. Now, if they ain't open, you can drive into Paris to JB market (@ about 12mi from Pleasant View). JB market is at junction 218 and 69A @ 4 way stop as you leave Paris heading easttowards Big Sandy. They will have minners. Proud of them too.

You can also get minners in Big Sandy (the town). It is about 8 miles from Pleasant View. Take 69A east til road dead ends to a T. Store/gas station on left will have them minners.

    PS

Lots of folks get lost in my neighborhood. Some roads are not marked. Most folks know the tree routes here.

Be careful on the back roads here. Some road signs may be missing.

The metal sign posts make good fence posts and the metal signs themselves are sometimes used to patch barn roofs.

Thanks everyone. I have no problems with tree routes. I've been on many of them.
We were down there in May but stayed a little further up. We were just north of Paris Landing. Stayed at Cypress Bay. Drove down to the pump house and launched boat one day. Spent the day fishing a little, catching a little, and just looking around mostly. We are going to give West Sandy and Big Sandy area a try this fall for crappie. We were also looking at some place for retirement. We are really hoping to retire to that area in the next few years. Will be doing a little more research when we are down in October.
We get a kick out of the resorts and bait shops closing for the season. Fishing season last 12 months. LOL Around here the resorts and especially the bait shops are open 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year.
Good fishing to all and maybe we will run into some of you in Oct. Actually have met a couple of you at a fall crappie shindig at Big Bear 3-4 years ago.

The metal signs around us wouldn't patch anything. they look like swiss cheese from all the bullet holes.
I don't understand the challenge of shooting a sign. Can't eat it, It doesn't make a good trophy, and its not much of a challenge.

I am about a 1+ mile east of the Pumphouse. Brenda and I will be at the KY shindig Oct 22. You need to come over to KY for the shindig. Miller Park Ky is about 1 hr from the Pumphouse. Who knows, they might feed you.

No more CDC members are allowed to move here from Illinois. I was the last one allowed in.
