I'd say Conway to Russellville or somewhere in between give or take a little North or South of I-40. I live in Batesville and find myself driving to Central Arkansas to crappie fish more often than not. Many good lakes in that area.

Build a house on that Salem farm! I own a place in mountain home close to lake. Can't beat it with a stick👍 Trout, bass, crappie, strippers, cats,.... Honestly have to say haven't gave the crappie a hard try yet but I know people up there wear em out in spring.

Hot Springs is a great area you have Hamilton,Catherine, Ouachita, Degray and Gresson all close by and the National Forrest for hunting pretty hard to beat this location

Hardy may not be too bad. A co-worker was showing me a picture of a black crappie that was caught a few weeks ago out of one of the lakes in the village. It was 3lbs 5 ounces on his scales. He took the picture and weighed the fish. It was a whopper. Bass fisherman caught it on a deep diving crank bait.

Russellville/Dardanelle area tough to beat. I like living right here on Lake Nimrod but it's a half hour trip to the closest Wal-Mart or good restaurants.

Dewitt is home for me! I have tried and could not live anywhere else! The crappie fishing is not the greatest around here anymore thanx to the influx of asain carp (my opinion only). But there are ton of fishing opportunities bass and catfish heaven in your into that sorta thing. Only a 2hr drive to the big 4. Thousands of acres of public hunting ground that is as good as or better than private ground that surrounds it. Some true Monsters are killed on the white river refuge every year! People around here are nice and respectful and friendly.
