Armyworms
On the way to the truck I noticed 10-12 larvae on the sidewalk. Figured the rain was driving them out. Later got a call from home. The neighbors were alerting us that they had an infestation of armyworms and they had eaten up their lawn. Our lawn care guy told us that he had lots of yards to treat. Never had them before.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The sheep live in fear of the wolf but in the end it's the shepherd that eats them.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes click when it is supposed to go bang and
a gun the goes bang when it is supposed to go click.

I built a house several years back and the folks were about to move in and I had been watering the mess out of the yard because it was really hot that year. I pulled up one day and I swear it looked like the yard was crawling from the street. Those jokers ate the whole newly sodded yard before I could get trugreen out there to kill them. Had to re-sod the whole yard.

We got them bad, neighbor below me sprayed last night and they were still thick this morning. Neighbor to my north they have completely killed about 2 acres behind his house. Had lawn care guy out spraying his front this evening. Strange though we have some kind of larger green and black worm about twice as big as a normal army worm mixed in with them this year. Had them bad about 3 years ago also. Friend of mine raises about 50 acres of tif ton 44 for horses and they are killing him. Said he has been fighting them for 3 weeks.

Easy to kill. Seven if it's being grazed, Eight, Malathion, several insecticides will kill them. Depending on what insecticide is used, the speed of dead larva will vary. When sprayed with some insecticides they will take two or three days to actually die but they will quit feeding soon after they are sprayed. The trick is to catch them early. Another thing I have noticed is if they start off in a pasture and move across it and come to a cotton field, they seem to not be attracted to the cotton leaves.
