Man, long lining in Aug. Think you're the only one I've ever heard doing that! Makes me want to get out and give it a go.

For me this morning. This 14 1/2 incher was the best of 9 I caught this morning long lining in Three Rivers.Had about a dozen throw backs to help keep it interesting. Black/chart and green/orang/chart curly tails.
No minners harmed. It was a nice morning, it only got up to about 90 today. Just not many fish for 4 1/2 hours.

That was only my 3 rd time trying long lining. There's not hardly any places around where I fish to do it. Most of the time I'm pushing or rigging but this particular lake it works as I have been observing a couple boats having success at it. Of course now there isn't hardly any one fishing in the heat and the fish don't seem to be very cooperative. Trying new things keeps me motivated.
Every day is a holiday and every meal is a picnic.
Some people long line all year. I don't do it much as I prefer one pole over trolling or spider riging but some guy do really well in the fall. If you see schools of shad you can catch them trolling.

Thinking back on it, NJHunter and I caught a double limit one time in Aug about 5 years ago long lining. Guess I forgot about it because I don't fish that body of water that much. Might have to go back and give it another try. Lol
