I would have them serving a year with $10, 000 in fines, don't care if you 80, should no better, how long this been going on? Problem with the system, to much catch and release with the wrong sort... just my two cents anyhow.
I agree it's bad to be selling game fish, but putting them in jail means costing 50,000 to keep them there for a year not real cost effective.

Exactly what's wrong with the whole system, an inmate should not cost us the tax payer abything, prisons should be self supporting as they still were in the early 70s

Yep, prisons aren't much of a punishment anymore for these new age thugs. They lay around all day in the heat or AC and watch TV and do drugs. It's like a social gathering for them. Put there butts to work. And Cl most these criminals cost tax payers one way or another with welfare assistance on the outside or housing cost on the inside. I rather not have them on the streets. Cost effectiveness and convicting criminals shouldn't be in the same sentence imo..

There was a period of time where there was no limit number . The law was written to be adopted or amended on a certain year but state failed to do it . somewhere around 2000-20005.

I agree whole heartily that the punishment not being enough. I also agree that it seems imprisonment is nuttin more than a community house. And now here in Ms. the prison system is nothing more than a lucrative venture for the officials. Just ask Epps and his big time buddies. I hope they get their justice but I bet they will get a pretty lenient sentence.

Yes, Parchman did not cost the state one cent until the judges got involved and said you could make them work.

I rented a farm with a ditch between Parchman and mine. I always said that was as close as I wanted to be to Parchman.

Come on guys why does it always have to be "I met a guy from Illinois". As far as prison after working in one for 20 plus years believe me when I say it's no picnic. If you don't believe me they are usually hiring all the time.
