Thread: a big question to think about

Well a good friend will come bail you out of jail if you happen to get drunk and get into some fight and tear up the bar you were in.
However, a true friend will be sitting in the cell beside you saying " Da__, that was fun!!"

A true friend will always see you try their eyes and never thru the eyes of others.

For your daughter this would be my definition of a true friend for her? A person you may not always agree with, a person you may fight with at times, a person you may not see everyday but is a person that would never do anything to hurt you knowingly, will always be there beside you when (needed - really needed). A true friend would never put you down behind your back. A true friend will stand beside you even if they know may think you are wrong. A true friend is one that will care for you when no one else seems to care. A good friend is a person that makes you smile even when down.
You will only have a few (true friends) through life so take care to be a (true friend) for that person to.

True friendships are established over a length time. (Years in most cases) Most of us have friends, only a small percentage have a single true friend. My definition of a true friend is a person that you consider a family member. Someone who can walk in the house without knocking. Someone that knows you almost as well as you know yourself. Someone that will give of themselves for your well being. Someone that understands your thinking, just as you understand theirs. Someone that will be there to pick you up when you are down. Someone to share in the good times and the not so good times. Someone to lend a shoulder to lean on, a ear to listen with, and a voice of reasoning. A true friend is a rare and cherished commodity. If you are lucky to have one, you are truly blessed.

Sorry did not mean to trivialize your question. Just trying to add some humor, because I had two sons and now have two granddaughters and I am clueless about raising girls. I can take them fishing but that is about it.
