Default finally back on the water (lake greenwood report) Sunday August 7th

alot has been going on as far as work has been concerned and havent done much fishing out of the boat this year. My parents got a lake house on Greenwood just down from T roys landing. They are situated in a little canal way in the back of the cove and its only about 3 foot deep. Fish are very active back there pushing minnows and hitting the top all the time. Anyways my son my wife and I went fishing from about 4 to 5 and ended up catching 40 to 50 fish. The majority were white perch with a few bream mixed in. fish were hitting redworms fished just at the side of the boat maybe a foot down. We were maybe 15ft away from the dock in the middle of the canal and it was one after another. Most fish were anywhere from 3 to 6 inches. It got to the one point where i set my pole down to take a fish off for my wife and my line was dangling off the edge and the pole started bouncing. I was having a heck of a time keeping up between baiting hooks and taking off fish. They werent wall hangers and got stabbed several times by the fins but was having fun catching fish again from the boat even if it was only 15ft away from the dock. It was shortly thereafter the storm rolled in and it poured. Going back home to Anderson we got caught in a downpour in hodges to the point where we were shooting out water for about a 1/4 mile. All in all a good trip and we now have a new spot on greenwood to fish.

Good deal, you don't always have to travel miles to catch fish. Sometimes the best spots are right under our noses. Congrats to you and the fam for the nice outing.

Congratulations on getting the family out for some fun catching. I am going to try the crappie bite on greenwood soon.

It is great to hear you were able to get the family on the boat and had a great time. It is surly what fishing it all about, congrats on the catch.
