A friend cut a hole and made a chute with drawstring for an ac unit.
A friend cut a hole in the tent and duct taped foam around the ac unit.
A friend taped some flashing to the front of an ac unit. Formed it to fit a 4" dryer hose. Tied the end to the vented frame area in the top of the tent before placing the weather cover over it. Reformed the flashing for 2 hoses for 2 tents.
I've seen ac units sitting in the doorway of tents. The air has to pass through the screen and the weather flap has to stay open.
I've seen some of the newer tents made for an ac unit with elastic closer.
All of the ac units were placed on milk crates or small tables. All of the tents had a tarp over them to hold the cool in better.

Done it for years and works like a champ. Slept in a 12 x15 tent on air mattress with a sleeping bag on top of us. This was in July on Tybee Island outside of savannah Georgia. You could hang meat in that tent!

    no different than a pop-up.

AC works great at night . In daytime in sunshine it's not so great. I set my tent up facing either N or S. After I get tent set up I lay a tarp over the tent to help cover the screen air vent in the roof and the air gaps around the side windows. Seal it up as best as possible. Then I take a big tarp (mine's maybe 12 X 20ft)and throw it over the tent , use a couple of adjustable poles , one in front, one in back to lift the tarp just above the tent and stake down the long sides east and west to make an A frame type shade to keep the sun off the tent all day.
The front of the AC unit MUST be inside the tent to draw the humidity from inside. You cannot sit the unit outside and run a ducted hose from the cold air disharge into the tent. It won't remove the humidity. Also the tent, unlike a house, won't hold the cold when you open the door to go in and out. In the daytime it is fine to go in and take a nap, provided you go in and stay in but a simple door opening loses all the cool dry air and it takes a few minutes to recover. Just my 2 cents worth on the subject....Happy Fishin, Fred
