I had a red oak that had the big knots on the limbs and the top was dead. It didn't look good so I cut it down. I cut a large wedge out on the downhill side. Started cutting on the uphill side. Being in the edge of the woods all the limbs are on the house side. I felt it move, pulled the saw out and down it came. The top caught the edge of the house. It put a little nick in a shingle and knocked everything off the walls in the kitchen. The inside back door needs to be shaved some so it will open and close without sticking, but that's like most of the doors in the house.
You get ready to climb that tree let us know. I don't drink but I'll buy the beer.

Shoot if I was gonna do that I'd done it years ago. Got the pop in law coming over this evening to help. Melissa said he looks for any reason to use a chainsaw lol. He once put on spikes, climbed a 100ft pine to top it and speared the house they lived in lol.
I have a guy coming Saturday to take a look at the still standing ones. Price is gonna suck!!

If it is close to a electric power line then check with your power company most of the time they will drop it on the ground for you. But you will have to cut it up and get rid of it yourself.![]()
Be safe and good luck fishing
About an hours worth of work. Pop in law had to cut one section with the gas saw I couldn't reach other then that he was going to town with his electric chainsaw and I was going to town with the gas one. It's off the fence and shed. Will have the other three on the ground for me to buck shortly.
No power lines near thank goodness.
