Happened in our area several times lately. Wonder what is going on. Will pray for family.

Feel like I'm beating my head against a wall . but wear your PFDs and they won't read about you in the obituaries. I just bought a belt type inflatable. Bout like wearing a fanny pack, not at all uncomfortable.

Heard on the news this morning the wife/girlfriend of a drowning victim had been charged and could face more charges.

Seen that also, got her for DUI while operating a boat. The charges may include causing his death.

I printed the Lake Wylie paper last night and read the story about the missing boater. The fact of the matter is ignorance, carelessness, and more times then not drunkeness are the cause of these fatalities. I'm convinced that most of these accidents are caused by folks that boat three times a year. The weeks before or after Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. The most likely time for these accidents are when these idiots are on the water. I have no problem with anyone enjoying a few cold ones while out enjoying the lake, but feel the penalties for driving your boat wrecklessly should include a suspension of boating privledges and a lengthy boating safety coarse before they are reinstated. I would also be in favor of automobile drivers that show a history of driving violations to also be required to under take the boating safety coarse along with a much shorter leash for any boating violations before being allowed to drive one.
