The middle of that range is equivalent to about 5 feet per second. If it takes you a second or two to recognize the brush pile as something you want to mark and then another second or two to get your marker in the water, you could be missing it by 20 feet or so. Throw your marker about that far behind the boat or so if you can and you should be close.

I get my Cuz to stand at the back of the boat where my down imaging transducer is and as soon as I start marking the pile or tree I tell him to drop it right by the motor where the transducer is. I am usually only moving about 2 mph. It is the most accurate method that I have found. Make sure you keep an eye on the buoy because they tend to walk a little and the deeper the water the more it can walk. Good Luck.

You can cast a jig all threw the area and if there is brush you will catch it

Run your most expensive crank bait through it and you will find it on first cast.

    Thumbs up

[QUOTE=Countryboy N.C.;3254074]get you a gps, after you find the piles, mark them on the gps, then you can go right to them next time.[/QUOTE

    What CB said.
Your GPS waypoints can save you a lot of time and put you right back on your markings.
