Watts Bar June 16, 2016
I wanted a few fillets for supper for tonight, and discovered I had let my stockpile get dangerously low. I have been giving too many away without replenishing. My neighbors and mom keep coming back for more.
Anyway, I went to Watts Bar yesterday evening, and caught several nice ones tight-lining minnows in brush 14 feet deep. I only needed about 5, so that's all I kept, but I released several 10 1/2 inch fish. The five I kept were 11 and 12 inches long. Only had to hit one brush pile. I was on a flat in a major creek. I love to feel that little "thump" in that deep brush.

Captain ... I sure hope you fish Watts Bar often, and provide reports & pics on your trips !! Reports & pics are a rarity from Watts Bar, unless I make them. And since I may only get down there once or twice a year, at most, there aren't that many reports posted.
It would be nice to see some reports from periods other than April & Oct (when I'm generally down there) and may even be the impetus for my partner & I to make more frequent trips. We really enjoy fishing the lake .... shooting docks & casting/jigging the fallen timber.

To catch fish on WB year-round, it's all about brush. Don't put it too deep or shallow....just mid-range.....say 11-16 at winter pool. And light line seems to be important, too. It gets the bait down, and allows me to feel that little "tick."
We got these the first week of this month.
