Have your boat and equipment in order before it gets dark. Trying to move around the boat in the darkness and not tripping over your rods and stuff is hard.
I have always had good luck anchoring in 30 feet of water on points or where a creek and the main channel meet.
Give your light time to work. If you do not have any activity around your light after 45 mins you may need to move.
Keep it simple ,I use only two rods with a single hook. On a good night you will be catching some of the biggest crappie you ever have. It is easier to retie a single hook on in the dark.
    Good luck have fun .

Matanza you will need 1 to 3 Rods 6 to 10 foot long set up like you were going spider rigging. Two good anchors and lots of minnows.
