    Default What when why?

I have noticed that since it has got real hot weather 95° that early in the mornings around 5:30 am I am getting these pictures on my 899 sonar. The settings are and remain the same and then later when the sun comes up good the pictures clear up and look completely different. What is this is this what they call the lake turn over? When is this just in the hot summer or will it also happen in the winter? and Why is this? Has anyone else seen this happen? The first 4 pictures are early in the morning and the others are later after sun has been up a couple of hours. Like I said the settings has not been changed or moved?????

That's some warm water. Are the pics from a small lake with sediment and a lot of recreational boaters?

Yes this lake is about 450 acres and people are doing a lot of skiing and boating. It has a lot of moss also because it is a somewhat shallow lake. We have had some days in the mid 90s lately.

I would say its plankton high in the water column. In the early mornings and late evenings I will see this at times. The plankton will rise up late in the evening/early night and go back down after the sun comes up good.

Thanks for the answers to this. It just started getting this bad in the early mornings this past week. But if it is plankton it may be a good thing.
