    Default Balzout mount users

Going to upgrade electronics and go with Balzout mounts. I was going to use the 6" arm for Helix 12 on the console. Have a 4" Rammount arm now for 898 unit.
Going to move 898 up front and put on a 12" Balzout mount. I like my fish finder up higher. Anyone else doing same? Just trying to prevent any gotchas'

Wannabe beat me to it, but seriously check Mark's (Cajun Fryer here in CC) webpage. He is a sponsor here and makes stout mounts.

I was going to use the Balzout as well for my new electronics but went with Cajun Fryers mount after some advice from CDC. I have a Helix 10 mounted up front on a 12" with a 6" extension and really like it. You can kick it down really good and it is holding up fine to some heavy pounding. I made sure and put some good backing behind the the aluminum to stiffen it up a bit. Here is a pick without the 6" extension.

Like the mount. Unfortunately, have new FF and Balzout mounts ordered and on the way. That boat looks familiar. Lowe?

Yes, Lowe stinger 195. Bought it in January and it was fun getting it rigged.

Thought so.. This one is mine. I have documented everything I have done to it. Making some major changes this year including new electronics.

Yes, I reviewed your posts in great detail before rigging mine which is also on here somewhere. I sent Lowe some feedback on some things I would change after using the boat for a few months but they never responded. Next winter I am probably going to add an ulterra with iPilot link, GPS puck and map chips. It's only money right?

Marine, What size bolts did you use on your mount? It is drilled for 5/16", but I used 1/4" SS countersunk bolts.
