Default offshore fun 5-31 / 6-9 **PIC HEAVY**

Been out of town near 2 weeks fishing at my home away from home....oak island/southport. Weather was absolutely beautiful for the majority. had to leave 3 days for a quick work trip right on time with the approaching tropical storm. could not have worked out any better.

Mated 2 days for my buddy on his Private Charter, and fun fished several more days with same buddy and crew.
Caught anything from Mahi, Kings, Cobia, Amberjack, Grouper, African Pompano, Tilefish, various snapper, and even brought boatside a baby Great White. ONLY 8ft long! ha.

Sore and need to hire a personal chiropractor

Just a few pics in no particular order

AND for those who have been patient with the A-rigs orders while ive been out of town, ill have them sent tomorrow!

    Thanks again

    Pete

Hey, Pete those are some nice fish!! Especially the Mahi Mahi (yum yum). That 10th picture isn't that a Lionfish? Any good to eat? Also is that the Seadek on the deck and floor of the boat? Does it hold up well? Thought about getting some for the boat. One last question, out of all those different fish y'all caught which one taste the best? Mahi Mahi? Thanks for sharing your vacation pics.

That is indeed a lionfish. I hear they are good to eat, but i was not about to fool around with 1 poisionous 1 pound fish.

As for taste, thats a very bias question as everyone will probably answer differently, but my favorites in order are:

African Pompano, Cobia, Wahoo, Grouper, Mahi then various bottom fish. #1 on the list we rarely get, i can count on 1 hand how many ive been a part of over the years. They eat excellent, and are $24 per pound for a reason

Way to go Pete. What an awesome time you must of had. You need to cut the fins off lionfish , that is where the poison is.. We always kill them if we are not going to eat them. They will take over the reefs if they are not kept in control. Kind of like the white perch in the lake that I keep trying to cull out.
