I would like to get some of this flash that is used on a Shinee Hinee jig, can you guys help? It is flat and looks to be 1/32th wide.

    Thanks,

Looks the same as the large Christmas tinsel. I use it in several different colors. Little bigger than crystal flash for sure. The silver on one side and gold on the other is almost a dead ringer for the Christmas tinsel. Check Hobby Lobby, I think ours already has Christmas stuff out. If not Walmart shelves will be stocked full before you know it.

Any fly shop can match that; it's pretty standard. However, the Christmas tinsel will work as well.

I use Flashabou and in the regular size. I find it to have more action and yes fish will finally just hit it until it's gone, but that is usually after more than 60 fish. I also get it in the Holographic Silver and Gold. Personally I hate it on spools because at some point it's curled too much and trying to straighten it out is not something I want to do.

Now the regular size is not as wide as the pictured flash, but it's enough.

I will agree with SKIP on the SPOOLS which we do have and I hate using IT.

Flashabou comes in at least 2 sises. Perhaps even more. Also spooled mylar is made to wrap around a hook such as when tying a streamer and not to be tied as flash for the length of the jig or fly. Christmas tree tinsel is currently mylar and can work for what you need if the color and size is correct.
