    Default Fort Loudoun Report

My wife and I slipped of for a while this morning to practice what we learned at this past weekend's Crappie Academy that was hosted by the East TN Crappie Club. First, let me say what a great gesture this academy was. These guys gave up a perfectly good Saturday to come teach and share how they pursue this sport. They used their boats and equipment, and many traveled fairly long distances. They cleaned my clock this entire tourney season, and then take their free time to show me how they did it! I am honored to be a part of this club, and to associate with these guys and gals.
Now for today, water temp was 73-74 and the fish were deep and on brush and docks. Or both! We spent a lot of time interpreting our electronics ( as we were taught) and shot a few docks. My wife is now a dock shooter! We fished the main channel with the pleasure boats, jet skis, and wind! Caught several fish, and several species. We kept 4 crappie for tomorrow's lunch. And that old male is still wearing his tux?Name: image.jpg

Well, if I had known that, I would have stayed home and worked. NOT! I actually had no idea when the contest ended.

Good report. Dock shooting can be addictive, but hey....crappie fishing in general is addicting. I enjoyed the academy as well. Can't wait until we have another one.

Thanks for the report. Late May - August Deep brush piles in the channel, soon to be trolling cranks.
