Thanks Brian I actually just pulled off. Wind was bad or could have caught then all day long. Ton of shorts for me all over the lake had 3 keepers.

Yup, it's a grind for the overs. I've had my fair share of those already this year, I'm ready for the 24-25-26s all summer long.

Sorry for the late reply, been on vacation for the past few days, but I did go out last Thursday evening along the dam. The white bass were biting ok but the size was rather small compared to previous years, maybe 10 inch fish was the average. They were biting right at dusk. I did get lucky and caught a nice wiper on a jerkbait right at dusk as well.

Did you get any pictures? I want to see the size of these wipers you speak of. And yea if you could get into a school of them the action could be fast and furious.

Our average Wiper ranges from 5-7 lbs. Last night we had three in about 20 minutes all between 5-6 lbs. I personally don't target Wipers unless I have clients out. But they always manage to show up when I'm Walleye fishing and often become a nuisance when doubling and tripling up, I've just caught too many cookie cutters. I guess I'm jaded. But again, always fun on guide trips. Here are just a few samplings.

Some days it doesn't matter what you throw at them. Generally if I'm targeting Wipers for clients, we'll troll #6 Flicker Shads until we find an active school. I'll drop a waypoint and go right back to the spot and grab jigging rods with anything from a small 4" swimbait to a Berkley Twitchtail minnow. But, often times they just want to chase and won't touch anything but a crank moving anywhere from 2.5-3 mph. On Tuesday I was throwing a Rippin Rap (for Walleye), and the Wiper were SMOKING it on slack line ripping it on and off the bottom. With that said, jigging spoons can always be really fun in a school of them too.
