Default How's fishing at Clinton? Water is off

Now that the corp shut off the water, has the crappie bite been better? Is the spawn still going or is it nearly over? Anyone fishing out there?

Wipers were excellent tonight. Fish were stacked and staionary. Taking all sizes and colors. Found a few nice 12" crappie also. Fishing very well IMO.

I was thinking about getting out of the office tomorrow and taking the day off. Has anyone been on the walleye at all since they have dropped the lake back down? What's the water clarity like? Also I'd have an open seat if anyone wanted to join.

Heard they were catching them on main lake points and flats. I'm going out later today to try my luck. I'll report back on how things turned out.

Mid lake off hard breaks 23 to 32fow. 21 down off the wire with the traps. Throwing 6" swimbaits down the lower edge of the break. Getting bit on every cast for about 45 minutes till the trolling motor started getting into the battery. Got kinda wild in the big waves, doubling every pass, tripling when I could get 3 out. Big fun, real good fish.

Yep. Sorry. But the Crapie were suspended out there also. Looked like they were more in front of the wipers, over deeper water, where the rise started at about 36' suspended 14 to 19', moving around. Shad clouds were real high in the water, starting at 2' down, seemed like the crappie were following um. Only caught 3 big Crappie on a big white bomber.

Nice well I'm going to give the walleye a try tomorrow. They were hot at banner creek earlier this week. I had around 50-60 one evening but not a single keeper. Its fun to catch them but occasionally you'd like to bring something home for your efforts.
