Default still a few big girls around

Weather this year continues to be crazy. Fish and fishermen are confused. Manage to catch the nice solid 16 inch big girl today on my third cast from shore. She was tight to the bottom in about 10 fow.She bit a blue/chart curly tail on a slooooow retrieve. Caught allot of fish over the next hour or so, most on my homemade jig. Almost all fish were close to the bottom in 10 to 12 fow. Caught fish vertical jigging and casting but they wanted the bait barley moving. Most of the fish were in the 8 to 10 inch range except for the big girl. All fish released.

Nice crappie. If you're fishing from shore how do you know the water depth?

Been fishing there about 20 years. End of the long dock is usually around 12 to 14 fow which I vertical jig allot. Depth in the middle of the dock is 6". Terrain around the dock is pretty consistent. Also have fished this area before by boat but it's been a few years.

Come on Roy, you have to get off that dock and in your boat and pick me up to go to the Pamonkey river and fish. I have been catching some good fish also, caught a 9 1/2 pound bass yesterday.
