I use to catch bunches of Fisheels in the St Johns River. the slimey critters can do an anchor thing on muddy bottoms, or wrap up on anything in the water. thet always wrap the line and slime it to the max

When you cook them they taste like channel catfish

Eels give me the creeps. If I ever caught one, I'd cut the line. When we pulled irrigation water off the Rio Grande in West Texas, they were in there sliding against your legs regular. Nasty creatures along with those big leeches that would latch on to you. You would have to slide a knife against the skin to get them off.
