    Default Still Biting at Conway

A bit slow yesterday - only caught 7, but three of them were whoppers. Single pole jigging. 7-9 ft. water. 6 1/2 ft. deep. 1/16th oz. lead head. Solid chartreuse on two of the big ones, the other with purple and chartreuse. Hanging on the cedars a bit north of Dix Creek. Caught one about 25 trees I fished. Fought the wind from 12:30 - 5:15 and finally gave it up. Made a good mess. Wayne at Dano's weighed the 3 big ones in at 2.2, 1.15, and 1.14.

I'd say you're getting the hang of it. Good Job!

Nice catch. 7 average crappie feeds my family and leaves enough for my lunch the next day. Congratulations!

7/8 is all I ever keep. Generally makes two real nice 1.2-1.4 lb. filet bags and lasts me and the wifey bout 2-3 weeks. we use a lot in "crappie gumbo" and blackened on the grill. also, last week made some of D-10's Conway Slab Cakes and they were the best I had ever eaten in my wife. Thanks Matt.

all I ever keep ... unless I am out in the freezer or keeping some for buds that don't fish.

No problem. My wife and family love it too. It is a little pain in the rear to make but they sure are good!
