I've declared the spawn over. I fished the best spawning areas I know without a sniff. We did manage about 8 crappie from 9-14.5" that were all caught 15-25' deep in 22-30' of water. This is the first time in probably 45 years that I haven't pulled a crappie out of less than 5' of water during the spawn. It's a bit depressing not seeing that orange cork ease out of sight. I'm now committed to the post spawn pattern. TW

Thank a Veteran every chance you get.
Its been a very very tough spring this year. I blame it on lack of rain and moving water.
12+ years past ive wore out striper and hybrids in my go to evening/nighttime spots from mid March-early May. This year, only 1 fish in about 5 attempts. Cannot even catch bait in the traditional areas.
Ive found fish elsewhere, just not as convenient!
