When I was young and my dad and I fished, he would always drive to the landing nearest where we would be fishing, because we had a fairly small boat. I still remember that. Today, because of huge boats and motors, people take it for granted that they will be safe regardless of how far they motor. Nothing could be further from the truth.........Grenada, Sardis, and Enid don't care whether you have a 14 ft. boat with a 25 hp, or a 21 ft. boat with a 300 hp..............they will all be like toys when the wind gets up and you are miles from the landing. Believe me, it's a lonely and scary feeling! Everyone be safe wear your life jackets, and utilize the kill switch feature.
No doubt duckhunter.. I've been in close situations myself. When I see or feel it coming I get to close to any shoreline closest to me, preferably wind friendliest. Lot of boats sink trying to get back to the ramp. I would beach mine before I sunk it.. also brings up another point of being prepared with supplies on board.

One of my best days fishing Sardis before i started spider rigging was in 35mph winds. Was drift fishing sideways (like side pulling) other than getting a little wet on the turns it was fun.

You will have fun the next few days then. Wind advisory and 30-40 MPH winds. Have fun. I'm changing my vacation for later. Ain't dealing with it as much as I'm desperate to fish.

After this last weekend fishing Sardis, I'm a firm believer that if you dont like the wind direction, just wait awhile and it will change for ya. Either good or bad, it'll throw ya a loop sometimes.
