Default Terrova and down imaging question

Who has disconnected the built in US2 transducer on the Terrova and gone with just a down imagining transducer?
Mounting my Helix 10 DI GPS up front this weekend and I swapped out the standard XNT 9DI T for a XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T.
    Here's what I'm wondering...
    1. Should I have kept the standard issued transducer or will the XTM WIDE do the job? I mainly target areas..brush piles..rocks..ledges etc. off the dash unit then pin point them with the down imaging to jig that structure.
    2. Should I leave the US2 built in transducer and use it with the down imaging transducer via a splitter or a transducer switch ?

    Thanks in advance .

The piezo in the US2 is the same 2d piezo in the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T ...

You would gain nothing by connecting the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T and the US2 together with the AS SIDB Y cable or the HB TS3 switch ..

    The US2 has 200kHz/83kHz 2d ...

    The XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T has 200kHz/83kHz 2d and 455kHz/800kHz DI ...
    The XTM 9 DI 25 T has 200kHz/455kHz 2d and 455kHz/800kHz DI ...

The XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T has wider 2d cone beams for more coverage under the boat ...

The XTM 9 DI 25 T has narrower 2d cone beams for better target separation under the boat ...

I couldn't tell you which transducer came with my Helix10 (Rickie can) but I run my transducer on one of his da'ducer apparatuses and couldn't be happier. I had my 898c hooked up to the 2D in my Terrova for a while. There is no comparison in the DI images or the 2D images then to now.
