Smart Strike for Helix 9 10 and 12

Got an email yesterday from Humminbird. I WAS..... going to hold on to the 1198C I got. Now Humminbird just has to tempt me with this. Been resisting to upgrade to Helix 12 but this may be the straw that pushes me over the edge.

Seems a software upgrade is soon going to enable this. For those of you that already went down the Helix road it may make you smile. Course the software update is free but Smart Strike Chip program lists for 199.00

Hopefully the price on the Helix 12 and the cost of the program will continue to convince me to just be happy with 1198.

As they say the spirit is strong but the flesh is weak. This tempt anyone else.

I talked to Rickie this AM about it for my Helix10. The free download is strictly for your unit to be able to run the $199 SmartStrike card. I think this is a gimmick for the traveling bass chaser types.

I'll pass.

Couldn't be happier with my Helix10 DI/GPS just the way it came out of the box.
