If the goal is to limit the number of baits in the water does it really matter if its a yoyo or a rod? 4 rods per angler and 2 baits per rod is what I am limited too, why should a yoyo guy get to put 25 baits in the water? I'm not anti yoyo, but I do believe there should be a level playing field.
Maybe they need to rewrite the regulations to read lines instead of rods?

now I don't have a clue on how to fish with a yo yo or what one is except for the one you played with as a kid;
but here is what is see as ya'lls law on the matter ;
MISSISSIPPI WILDLIFE, FISHERIES, & PARKS
Additional Information:
Anglers may fish with no more than four (4) poles or rods per person with only two (2) hooks or lures per pole.
The aggregate daily boat creel limit for crappie for boats with three (3) or more anglers shall be 40 crappie larger than 12 inches.
All Yo-Yos, and FFFDs (Free Floating Fishing Devices or Jugs; up to 25 per person with 2 single hooks on each) must be legibly marked with either waterproof ink, stamped, or tagged to show the angler's full name and residence address with zip code. Yo-Yo tags shall be attached above the water line and furnished by the angler. Yo-Yos and FFFDs must be attended during daylight hours. Attended means devices must remain in sight of the angler during daylight hours. These devices may be fished at night without attendance.

the way I see it,if he has to resort to that method of catching of fishing we need to invite him to c.com and teach him there's a better way to fish.![]()
Well there you have it, I guess it's legal. I don't understand the logic behind that being legal but poles limited to 4 per person but the law is the law and if it's legal it's none of my business.

Was on Enid . Was told it was legal(according to him ) at this time but if this practice became popular rules/regulations would surely follow . Talking about a floating trotline .
I know you have not been around here so let me help u out. There are not but a few people on this whole board who have caught a limit in the last 60 days on the corp lakes. I would venture to say there may more than a few if the law allowed unlimited hooks, poles, size limits, etc. the laws or rules are set for the purpose of maintaining or creating world class fisheries. The limit is a limit saying is ridiculous. There is nobody that catches a limit of fish everytime they go. The only argument u could have would be for them to lower the limit of fish and allow unlimited rods, hooks, etc. but I'm afraid if they did that by the average of boats per year we would be looking at a 5 fish limit. That would be a hoot!
I talked to some officers today. Some say as long as the boat is moving it's legal. Others say what the difference between moving and sitting still, most yo yos are set at a place to sit still, bait may move some.
We have a size limit and a creel limit. Does it matter if we meet it in an hour or all day?
Good luck with the officer that checks you.
