Default Gave Woodruff a go today...

Had plans to fish the Norris Dead river out of Highland Park, only problem was couldn't buy a bite & it was a bit to cold to take lessons from the bird in the pic below & dive in the water after one, sooo I headed to the lake despite white caps, caught a couple hear & there & almost packed it in early, then the wind settled down a little & the bite was better from 11 to 1pm, lost count but worth the trip..water temp 56F, any combo with red worked best...the pic with fish was the calmest the lake got for me....

Was "short" long-lining trolling.... you know Woody's depth Tim, couldn't throw 2 far out back

The deepest I marked was 6ft, Woodruff is a swallow lake...good spwaning grounds most females caught were ready to burst with the size of knots they had in belly...was trolling 3-5ft

Thanks Jeff. Pitching a jig and cork around the clusters of weeds is about my favorite way to fish there. Peg the float and use one that looks like a stick with the float in the middle. As it settles the float will stand up and you get used to the time it takes to do that. Then you make a cast and it doesn't stand up, they have hit on the fall. Makes for a fun day. I've never been one to sit and work a spot and then move when on Woodruff. Hope someone gets to go today, I got stuff to do.

Thanks for the report and the info on your set up. I am hoping to give Woodruff a try in the near future.
