Thread: Murray Report 1/24/15

Nice catch and report Derrick. The pictures are awesome been wanting to go but is too cold in the mornings for this old man. Had planned on tomorrow bet got a Dr's appointment. I am ready to tangle with some of those stripers.

Haha yeah, we are fishing Saturday. Planning on a Friday trip up there to practice. We were planning to go up there Sunday but we decided against it. Figured a lot would change over the course of the week with some slightly warmer temps and all the cold water coming into the lake.

Me thinks I know that lonely fisherman in the 1st picture you shot. He looks a little lost thougH

And I thought we were the only ones out there in the 23 degrees. It was nice when the sun came up though.

We ended up fishing some of our brush that we recently sank in the Adams Camp area and only netted 3 crappie but had one really nice female. The perch and stripers were too thick for the crappie to fight through and as soon as you let the minnows down the perch were on it. Ended up keeping 33 really nice perch, 2 keeper stripers and 3 good crappie.

I probably saw more bait fish in the small area we were in than I've seen in all of Lake Murray before. Bait was everywhere. I guess the crappie were holding tight to the brush with fat bellies full of shad.

I think you do know that fella!! That big red ranger was looking pretty over there. The captain appeared to know what he was doing, but I did hear a couple "Sunday school" words when the rock fish swam through his setup!!
