I noticed at bass pro the other day they have came out with a new micro lite that I wasn't impressed with... IMO I would get an okuma celilo (unsure of spelling) from fishusa... A better rod than the micro lite and cheaper... And if you want to step up from there I would check out the ESP rods

I just got a flyer from Cabela's .They are showing a Pro Guide PTC rod that I would like to handle. There is an 8' UL model I'll check out. It is in the proven old IM6. graphite I like. So many rods-- So little time. lol

I owned a 7ft ultra light in that model that I didn't like at all... It felt like a light action... Was a little stuff for me but you may like it if you like a slightly stiffer feel. Also the 8ft might be more sensitive... Let me know what you think when you handle one of those pro guide ptc's

I love the BPS micro lite for my shorter poles, got 3 or 4 of them - used to have one more, but if someone recovers it from Dale Hallow, please return it to me. Anyway, I noted when I was in BPS a week or two back that there was one in the clearance rack. Picked that up, as I as thinking I needed one more. But knowing how BPS does things, my guess is that means a new model. Sure enough, just looked. The ones I have are all in the golden/brown color - looks like the new ones are a light purple in color. Have not touched one of those, so have no idea, but I like the previous model pretty good. Wonder if you can find any more on clearance?

We have some at our bass pro in Bristol still... I checked out the new model of micro lite and thought it was okay... I stopped buying them when they changed the guides on them

You might want to scope out the ESP UL 5'6" and 6' rods and compare them to the BPS Microlite rods.

Grizzly Jigs has the best prices that I'm aware of : https://grizzlyjig.com/VirtualCatalog/#28 (listed price is approx $10 lower than the ESP website prices ... Ultra Lite rods | Shop | ESP™ High Performance Ultra Light Rods by Norsemen Outdoors )

Just received my new 7.5 foot UL Browning Airstream rod today from Bass Pro. It is a beautiful rod with a decent amount of backbone for an ultralite rod. It is very lightweight, has a very comfortable handle and retails for $59.99. I have been a fan of the Okuma Celilos for years and I own several but I am looking forward to putting this rod through the paces very soon. I will hopefully have a full report with pics in the near future. Check them out at Bass Pro. I liked them a lot better than the new Micro Lites IMHO.
