met up with the CDC world famous Newly and his father in law to show him around lake norman.....literally. Put A-LOT of miles in looking for fish. 2 inches of rain the night before did not help any.

by around 1100am, the fog got so thick that visibility was less than 50ft and finding any life was tough, so called it a day early.

Newly did get to tug on his first every Hybrid which was a toad (for now) at about 21 1/2 inches.

correct me if I am wrong Newly, final tally for the morning was 4 hybrids (one with a quick release) about 5 perch, and 4 or so Spots. was a tough bite, but definitely made the best of it.

as Newly is my witness, all but 2 fish came off the A-rig on the downrigger.

Enjoyed it! Cant wait for a Cool snap. its whats needed to really fire off the fish on Norman. looks like its the only lake we will be able to fish this Winter!

Was a good day for sure. A nice fish indeed. Thanks Pete for taking my brother in law. He looks old enough to be my father in law. Haha. He has been wanting to go striper/hybrid fishing for a while and appreciate the invite. Yea those rigs you make are dangerous on that rigger. Appreciate it again. You made his day!! thanks Pete. I'm gonna lay out of work tomorrow . I'm gonna go hang around the landing with a sign around my neck, sayin "TAKE ME FISHING PLEASE".....
