    Default Harris 1/1

6 hours into 2016 and I needed to fish. Armed with the knowledge of reading Special K's 10 part crappie guide I went to Harris knowing it was going to be a good crappie day since I was now an expert in crappie fishing..........

The crappie once again showed me who's boss.

I tried a few new locations and spent more time then usual trolling around reading the fish finder. Defintely went through some places that I'll have on my list to check again shortly. Fished from 7-230, caught 7 crappie, only 2 keepers and about 15 perch in the 1lb range. Catching that class of perch is fun so it was a great day!

I plan on doing something I know even less about then crappie fishing Sunday, which is striper fishing at Kerr, but at least I'll be armed with Pete's A-Rigs (so I figure they'll basically jump into the boat)!

Be sure and check for ramp closures as kerr is about 14 ft high.

10-4 on checking the ramps. I moderate parts of the Kerr board. My friend fishdoc has been putting in at Ivey Hills and fishing toward the dam. From Ivey Hills back to Clarksville is a real mess. They are pulling all they can to keep from flooding downstream it came up almost another foot today. Please be careful. G
